Positively Exhausted podcast

I produced and hosted a podcast series investigating toxic positivity, the idea that the best way to cope with a challenging situation is to put a positive spin on it and repress negative feelings that may arise. In the series, I discussed the use of toxic positivity as a coping strategy often promoted in companies and the effect it has on individuals and on the corporations themselves.

Using rich storytelling from my own experiences, along with interviews and discussions with scholars, I explored the effects of toxic positivity on employees, especially those who identify as women, and company culture.

Diversity in tech speaker

Given my diverse background, my perspective and experiences in the tech environment are unique and sometimes deviate from the ordinary.

I love sharing my experiences and shedding light on tech issues in panels and fireside chats, like the ones hosted by the Rotman Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Association (image) and the Business Design Initiative.

I also facilitate conversations about diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Hosting a pride event for the Berkeley Labs, I was able to create a safe space for ERG participants to reflect on toxic positivity and how to foster inclusion in their own environment.

Community involvement

My commitment to community involvement spans continents, with experiences ranging from student organizations to non-profit work in Brazil, South Africa, and Slovakia. My passion lies in gender, human rights, politics and migration.

I also enjoy the intersections of these disciplines with technology. As a Student Fellow at the Creative Destructive Lab, I first delved into Toronto's startup scene, organizing events and mentoring startups in AI and Space. As the President of Access to Success at Rotman, I led a team that championed accessibility and mental health within the student community, including a case competition focused on diversity, inclusion and tech.

More recently, I have been involved in different capacities (mentoring, web designing, strategy and event organization) at the Women in Management Association, the Rotman Business Design Club
and the Forté Foundation.

Getting involved in the communities where I live is essential for me to feel immersed and at home. I'm always looking for new, socially innovative startups to follow and collaborate with, and love expanding my network in these areas.
